1st Generation Family-Owned Business
The Cardillo family bought the old Mini Mac farm in Long Valley NJ in 2020. Buying it originally just as a home after falling in love with the property during a visit Mike decided to step away from teaching, put on a pair of bits and step up to the plate. Turning a farm that was no longer functioning as one into a daily working farm was never part of the plan but it has been a great and fun journey for the whole family. Trial and error has been the way of the farmer for centuries and it is no different for the Cardillo family and Sharp Iron Farm. However, with some time under their belt the farm is home to over 100 free range chickens as well as more than 15 acres of hay fields that are harvested, bailed and sold to the community. Sharp Iron Farm is not only the families business but it also their home, which they invite you to visit, check out and spend some time at. ABOUT SHARP IRON FARM
Sharp Iron farm is a farm local to Long Valley New Jersey that specializes in free range chicken eggs, hay & fresh produce. It is not limited to those things as Mike Cardillo operates the farm as a working farm with sheep, an alpaca and chickens as well gracing the farms land. Sharp Iron Farm also loves it's local community and carries out weekly fall family fun days for people to learn about sheep herding, read a story, pick pumpkins or take a hay ride throughout the property as fall paints a picture in the trees surrounding the farm.

Our chickens have gone from chicks in our basement to full fledge farm dwellers in our field. They have left the coop so to say and are laying eggs for you and your family to enjoy!
